Opera “L’ELISIR D’AMORE” by Gaetano Donizetti

Cyprus Opera Society presents Gaetano Donizetti’s masterpiece L’Elisir d’Amore, a very well-known Italian romantic comic opera, at Limassol’s Pattichion Municipal Theatre, on 13 and 15 September 2026, with the participation of artists from Italy and Cyprus.

Conductor Piergiorgio Del Nunzio, Stage Director Paolo Baiocco, Soprano Maria Papaioannou, in the leading role of Adina, Tenor Lorenzo Papasodero as Nemorino, Bass-Baritone Domenico Cagliuso, as Dulcamara, Baritone Marios Andreou, as Belcore, Soprano Giulia Bruni, as Giannetta, the 32-member Cyprus Opera Society Chorus and the 24-member Limassol Camerata Orchestra, are the principal artists of the production, which is placed in an Italian countryside setting of the 1950’s. The purely musical parts of the production are interspersed by small theatrical interventions, in Greek, with Irene Cacoyanni.

The revenue from both planned performances will be donated to the LITTLE HEROES Foundation, which supports children with cancer and leukemia.
